PowerBeads can dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to prepare a substrate for rendering by allowing the contractor to fix the PVCu beads directly to the blockwork without the need for adhesive mortar or dabs of render.  As soon as the beads are fixed, they are ready to accept render.

Extremely rigid edges keep the PVCu bead straight whilst it is being fixed.  The flexible wings and back plates take up small irregularities in the blockwork without the need to dub out.  Horizontal profiles can easily cope with the weight of spraying or trowelling on 15mm of One Coat Renders and Monocouche Renders and they remain firmly in place when scraping off.

Application: Corner Beads (Angle Beads) for all rendered corners and reveals to ensure a straight arris and to offer protection against impact.  Bellcast Beads (Drip Beads) at or above DPC level and window heads to allow rainwater to drip clear of the underlying substrate.  Stop Beads (Render Stops) at door and window surrounds to prevent cracking, for a change of substrate or for a change of finish.  Movement Joints (Expansion Joints) must be specified where there is an area of render of 16 square metres or a panel of more than 6 metres in one dimension but always in accordance with manufacturers guidelines; where there is a structural movement joint under the render; may be used as a day joint or to define different coloured rendered panels; should be used in cases of a change to the background substrate.
Packing: 3.0m lengths in triwall fibreboard boxes.  Lengths per box varies due to size and weight of some profiles.
Fixing: If mechanical fastenings are used, these must be stainless steel or galvanized steel.  Large irregularities in the blockwork should be dubbed out prior to fixing and the render allowed to set hard.  Adhesive mortar or render dabs can be used under the beads if the substrate is not correctly aligned.
